Lyceum BNTU

On June 29, 1990, in order to qualitatively improve general education and vocational guidance for students, integrate general secondary and higher education, and develop the system of continuous education, an order was issued to open a secondary specialized school at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute.

The school was created to prepare students of grades X-XI in the specialties of the Polytechnic Institute.

  • development of students' interest in technical disciplines;
  • expansion and deepening of knowledge in mathematics, physics, drawing on the basis of the secondary school program;
  • familiarization of students with the main directions of development of modern science and technology;
  • active involvement of students in the research work of the departments, the public life of the institute.

The school provided graduates with a general secondary education, while providing in-depth training in the disciplines of physics and mathematics, as well as profile training in the specialties of the BPI faculties. For teaching students, the school used textbooks of the mass school, and for specialized disciplines - textbooks for the choice of teachers and departments, as well as manuals prepared and published at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. Students of the 10th grade took exams in mathematics and physics at the end of the school year. Students who did not pass these exams, as well as students with "2" and "3" marks for the year, were subject to expulsion and were sent to general education schools at their place of residence. The rest of the students were transferred to the 11th grade. Graduates of the school who have completed training and successfully passed the final exams, a certificate of secondary education of the established figurative form was issued with a list of additionally studied academic disciplines. The specialized school of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute accepted students from general education schools in Belarus with incomplete secondary education, who showed an inclination to study disciplines of the physical, mathematical and technical profile at an advanced level, who had a desire to continue their education at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. Admission to the school was carried out on a competitive basis based on the results of entrance examinations in mathematics and physics in the volume of the course passed. The annual intake plan was 150 people. The school worked on the basis of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. Graduates of the school who had final grades in subjects submitted for examinations for admission to the university are not lower than "4", enrolled in the institute without entrance examinations. On January 1, 1994, according to the order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the secondary specialized school was reorganized into the BSPA Lyceum. On November 27, 1996, the State Inspectorate of Educational Institutions recognized the lyceum as an attested educational institution and issued it a certificate of state attestation. On July 15, 2002, an order was issued on the reorganization of the Belarusian National Technical University by joining the Educational Institution "Lyceum of the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy" as a structural unit.
