Today, on April 27, the Open Day was held at the Belarusian National Technical University. Returning to the open area, large–scale exhibition facilities and unchanging traditions – we will tell you everything about it in the report from the holiday of professions.
After a prolonged coolness, the weather conditions pleased the city with a sunny day. The Belarusian National Technical University, in turn, decided to please the applicants with an open platform of the Open Day. Today it houses stands of faculties and branches of the university, interactive zones, exhibitions and a festive stage.
The first applicants began their acquaintance with the Polytechnic University at 09:00. At each stand, they had the opportunity not only to get information about the specialties, but also to communicate with students and teachers of a particular faculty, learn more about the disciplines, the learning process, etc.
Most of the guys, as a quick survey showed, came not just to get acquainted with BNTU, but already thoroughly prepared for admission. Polina, for example, knows for sure that she is going to enter the Faculty of Automobile and Tractor Engineering, specializing in industrial design.
– At the moment I graduated from the branch of BNTU "Minsk State Architectural and Construction College" and now studying at the preparatory department of BNTU. After trying the architectural direction, I decided that I want to pursue design more. Today I came to the Open Day to learn more about this specialty. After learning about it, I went to the interactive zones.
For those who were just starting to look for a suitable direction for themselves, there was also an interactive – career guidance testing, organized by the Institute of Integrated Learning and Education Monitoring of BNTU. The scheme of actions, as always, was simple: pass the test – get the result – go to get acquainted with the profession at one of the BNTU faculties.
At the opening ceremony of the Open Day creative teams of the Department of Cultural Affairs of BNTU gave the audience another charge of good mood. The first vice-rector of BNTU Andrey Safonov addressed the applicants with a welcoming speech.
– On this sunny day I am glad to welcome all of you at our large-scale, important and interesting event – Open Doors Day BNTU. For you we have prepared a large-scale event with a convenient format: today you can not only visit the stands of faculties, but also talk to representatives of organizations – customers of personnel, who will tell you about the work in your chosen profession.
We will be happy to accept motivated students who will subsequently become qualified specialists. That is why I sincerely want to wish you to find yourself and your future profession, as well as to have a fun and interesting time at our celebration.
As Andrey Ivanovich mentioned, today applicants were welcomed by both BNTU faculties and branches, as well as leading industrial enterprises of the Republic of Belarus. The guests also prepared interactive platforms and exciting masterclasses.
For example, together with the Minskenergo RUE it was possible to learn how to extinguish a fire, and with representatives of the Minsk Automobile Plant JSC the children could see from the inside the company's novelty – a three-axle tourist bus model 30546. Alexander Safronov, Head of the Passenger Equipment Sales Department, told about the vehicle and the contribution of BNTU graduates to its development.
– Today we present our pride – a three-axle tourist bus model 30546. This is a new product on the market, and in the process of its development we tried to take into account all the challenges of our time. The bus has a capacity of 61 passengers, is equipped with a bathroom, a refrigerator, three monitors and, of course, amenities such as Wi-Fi and electricity sources. In total, about 70-72% of parts and components are manufactured in Belarus, and we will increase this figure.
In addition to the characteristics, we can boast that most of the technological processes and model creation involved graduates of BNTU. Coming to us, young specialists are immediately involved in all the working processes of production, and it is from under their hands that such novelties come out.
The traditions of the Open Day were also observed in full. The festival included a demonstration performance and a field kitchen from the Faculty of Military Technology, calligraphy master classes from the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology of BNTU and interactive activities from the BNTU Media Center.
Following the results of the quest-raffle, the results of which we summarized in our Instagram, ten applicants immediately received special prizes and branded merchandise of the university, which will please the eye and warm the upcoming academic year.
As part of the educational program of the holiday of professions, among other things, a short meeting was held with the leadership of BNTU. Deputy Chairman of the Admissions Committee, First Vice-Rector of BNTU Andrey Safonov and Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Director of the Institute of Integrated Forms of Education and Educational Monitoring of BNTU Natalia Afanasyeva spoke about the upcoming admissions campaign. They also answered the applicants questions in detail.
At the end of the event, those who have already decided on a profession or found it at the Open Day BNTU, were able to attend consultations on entrance tests, as well as training on "How to pass the CE and CT for 100 points".
Thus, one more Open Day has come to an end, but we are not saying goodbye to the applicants, we are waiting for new meetings within the walls of the Belarusian National Technical University!
