Today, May 1, the international festival “Navruz Gathers Friends” was held on the territory of the BNTU “Polytechnic” sanatorium.
For reference: “Nowruz” means “new day” and its spelling may vary depending on the region. It has become a good tradition at BNTU to celebrate this holiday on the territory of the BNTU Polytechnic sanatorium.
The festival brought together more than 1,200 people. Among them are the leadership of the Belarusian National Technical University, volunteers and foreign students of our university, as well as honorary guests: representatives of the embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Turkish Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, Rector of BNTU Sergei Kharytonchyk delivered a welcoming speech. A holiday of friendship that united cultures, traditions and many people - this is how Sergei Kharytonchyk described the event.
The words of the rector of BNTU were supported by the head of the department of social development of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of Tashkent State Transport University Odil Abdurakhmanov. He congratulated those present on the large-scale celebration and stressed that he was glad to be a part of this event.
Vladimir Gerus, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, was also invited to the stage. The guest noted the high level of the holiday and the strong friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
Continuing the solemn atmosphere, Sergei Kharytonchyk presented the badge and certificate “Honorary Professor of BNTU” to the rector of Karshi Engineering and Economic Institute Orifzhan Bazarov.
At the ceremony, festival participants enjoyed the bright performances of the dance group “Munozhat”, the folk song ensemble “Kakhanachka”, the dance ensemble “Friendship”, soloists Bakhshi Dilmurod Gulmirodov, Tulkin Fayziev, Victoria Valatina, Sherzod Masharipov, Rohila Ruzimova and Dilmurod Otajonov. On the main stage of the festival, laureate of international competitions Yasmina Omar-Moon and student of the Faculty of Energy Alexandra Nizhnikova performed a joint performance “Kupalinka”. The artists showed the rich flavor of Belarusian and Uzbek cultures.
In addition, non-competitive sports competitions were organized at the festival site, such as a mini-football tournament, a game “Bouncers”, tug of war, checkers and chess games, badminton, and table tennis. Anyone could test their strength in competitions in basketball, darts, biathlon, ball chasing, ring throwing, hoop exercises, jumping rope and football bowling.
A symbolic interactive event was the preparation of one of the most delicious national dishes - pilaf. Foreign students from BNTU prepared it in teams, and each team had a unique recipe for the delicacy.
After a colorful concert program, the results of the festival's competitive tests were announced. Thus, according to the results of the mini-football tournament, the prizes were distributed as follows:
Navruz is a holiday of friendship. It is symbolic that today friendship won the competition for preparing the best pilaf. Teams from all countries prepared delicious dishes that were enjoyed by every member of the jury, guest of honor and festival participant.
