Yesterday, on July 31, the final stage of the BNTU phygital tournament, an airsoft competition, took place at the active recreation club “Bars”.
For reference: phygital is a sport that combines competitions in two formats: digital and physical. Participants meet on real and virtual playing fields, competing not only in agility and flexibility, but also in strategic thinking and working with gameplay.
The first stage of the tournament took place on July 16 at MetaArena cybersport venue. The participants of the event – a team of students from China TEAM BIKIBO and a team from the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics DFG – competed in their CS2 playing skills.
Having proved themselves in digital sports, today the teams went to the airsoft field to decide the outcome of the competition.
The game took place in two locations with different tactics. In the first case, the teams had to capture two points and hold them under enemy pressure, in the second - to storm the enemy defense and bring tactical barrels to the position of the other team.
Captain of TEAM BIKIBO Junjie Xia shared his impressions of participating in the phygital tournament.
– Firstly, I think that the competition is a very important event, and I think that your team is ready to fight us both morally and spiritually. This is very important for us. Secondly, this tournament inspires me and our team. It gave us an interesting experience and strengthened our body, strength and spirit.
In turn, captain of DFG team Nikita Soldatov spoke about interaction with another team and the organization of the tournament in general.
– I really liked the phygital tournament, because it was my first experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the organization of the tournament, because it was really good work. As for the interaction with the other team: we understood each other quite well, communicated a lot. Our opponents are very nice guys, so we did a great job. We played very friendly.
As a result of today's competition, the DFG team from the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics won the second stage and the entire tournament.
After summing up the results, all participants of the tournament received prizes and, of course, unforgettable emotions.
Congratulations on a worthy game and we look forward to holding new tournaments to strengthen friendly relations with foreign students.
