On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, a ceremonial meeting of the staff of the Belarusian National Technical University was held to summarize the results of the review competition for the best university department in the 2023/24 academic year, which has been held at the Polytechnic since 1997 and has no analogues in higher education institutions.
For reference: the review competition is organized by the rector's office and the primary trade union organization of employees within the framework of the BNTU quality management system in order to further improve the educational process, improve the quality of training specialists for the sectors of the economy of Belarus and foreign countries, increase the effectiveness of scientific and methodological work, the level of scientific and innovative activity, ideological and educational work, strengthen labor and executive discipline, economy all types of resources. The management of the review competition is entrusted to the commission of the Rector's office and the trade union committee, whose composition is approved by the rector.


In accordance with the regulations on the review competition, following the results of the 2023/24 academic year, the following were determined:
- the best faculty;
- the best institute for advanced training;
- the best graduate and university-wide departments;
- The best hostel;
- the best building.
The results of the faculties' work were evaluated on the training of scientific and pedagogical staff, students, scientific and methodological and research work, scientific and innovative activity, fulfilment of certain planned indicators centrally set for the faculties, ideological and educational, cultural, mass, physical culture, sports and health-improving work.

Special nominations have been established based on the results of the review competition:
- “The best faculty for ideological and educational work”;
- “The best faculty for cultural and mass work”;
- “The best faculty for physical culture, sports and health-improving work”;
- “Best Humanities Department”.
A total of 16 faculties, 2 institutes of advanced training and retraining, 70 graduate and 23 general university departments, 12 campus dormitories, 21 buildings participated in the review competition for the academic year 2023/24. The results of the review competition were approved by the Rector's order No. 130 dated 12 March 2025.

Rector of BNTU Sergey Kharytonchyk and chairman of the trade union committee of workers Irina Vakhtina presented diplomas to the teams-winners and prize-winners of the competition.
So, the best divisions of BNTU in 2023/24 academic year were:
among the faculties:
- first place - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Dean - Anastasia Arabey, Chairperson of the Trade Union Bureau - Elena Konovalova);
- second place - instrument-making faculty (dean - Alexander Svistun, chairman of the trade union bureau - Natalia Riznookaya);
- third place - Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy (Dean - Alexey Drobysh, Chairperson of the Trade Union Bureau - Ekaterina Orlova);



among the institutions:
- first place - Intersectoral Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining in Management and Personnel Development BNTU (Director - Nikolay Selivonchik) and Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining in New Directions of Development of Engineering, Technology and Economics BNTU (Director - Denis Konopatsky);


among the graduate departments:
- first place - department ‘Laser Engineering and Technology’ of the Faculty of Instrument Engineering (head - Alexander Malyarevich, trade union leader - Olga Balashova);
- second place - chair ‘Engineering Economics’ of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (head - Tatiana Sakhnovich, trade union leader - Lyudmila Vrublevskaya);
- third place - department ‘Machinery and Foundry Technology’ of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Head - Mieczysław Sadocha, trade union leader - Anna Varaksa);



among the university-wide departments:
- first place - Department of Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Head - Eugene Krushevsky (until 31 December 2024 - acting Head of the Department Alexandra Savitskaya), trade union leader - Marina Myshkovets);
- second place - Department of ‘Mechanical Engineering and Machine Parts’ of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Head - Alla Kalina, trade union leader - Igor Komiak);
- third place - Department ‘Theory and History of Architecture’ of the Faculty of Architecture (Head - Yuri Chanturia, trade union leader - Natalia Korol);

- first place - hostel No. 9 (head - Tatyana Insheva, trade union leader - Irina Bryantseva);
- second place - hostel No. 11 (head - Inna Piletskaya, trade union leader - Tatyana Malyarevich);
- third place - hostel No. 16 (head - Andrey Demko, trade union leader - Svetlana Khmylkova);



among the buildings:
- first place - building No. 9 (commandant - Julia Novitskaya);
- second place - building No. 17 (commandant - Olga Shinkevich, trade union leader - Lyudmila Veresova);
- third place - building No. 20 (commandant - Natalia Gerasimenko, trade union leader - Anna Misnik).



In special nominations were recognised the best:
- ideological and educational work - military-technical faculty (chief - Andrey Pochebyt, chairman of the trade union bureau - Dmitry Kozel);
- cultural and mass work - Faculty of Energy (Dean - Evgeniy Ponomarenko, Chairperson of the trade union bureau - Victoria Romanko (until 30 December 2024 - Natalia Brankevich)) and Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarianisation (Dean - Gennadiy Brovka, Chairperson of the trade union bureau - Olga Linkevich);
- physical culture, sports and health-improving work - Faculty of Sports and Technical Education (Dean - Ivan Belsky, Chairperson of the Profiburo - Tatiana Sinyavskaya (until 12 February 2025));
- Humanities Department - ‘Theory and History of Architecture’ of the Faculty of Architecture (Head - Yuri Chanturia, trade union leader - Natalia Korol).
