Today, on March 22, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted an open Day (OD). About two thousand applicants and their parents visited the university to get to know the faculties better and make an important choice of their future profession.
Traditionally, the day began with a grand opening. The Deputy Rector of BNTU Andrey Safonov addressed the participants of the OD.
– This day is aimed at integrating with leading industrial enterprises, which will help future students to better understand their profession. I urge everyone to choose a high-quality university education in order to become motivated and trained specialists. The Belarusian National Technical University offers many promising specialties, including mechanical engineering, construction and energy. I wish you all success in this important matter!
Creative performances were presented to the guests by the teams of the Department of Culture. Soloists of the vocal and pop studio "Vlyublennaya Dusha", the People's Orchestra of Folk Instruments and the dance ensemble "Druzhba" performed festive musical compositions.
In a great mood, the participants of the OD continued to get acquainted with the university. The stands of the faculties and enterprises that order personnel were organized for them. Future applicants could learn in detail about the potential place not only of study, but also of future employment.
In addition, the children took part in master classes in various areas: modelling, planimetry, geodesy, etc. Future applicants were also offered counselling on admission issues and free career guidance testing.
The OD participants also witnessed a real spectacle - a demonstrative performance by the cadets of the military-technical faculty. The future officers demonstrated impressive hand-to-hand combat skills, coherence and fortitude.
- Military theme has always attracted me, it is my long-standing dream. That is why I am seriously considering the possibility of entering the military-technical faculty of BNTU. The Open Day only strengthened my desire, - said 10th grade student Yulia.
Other students also shared their impressions about this day. For example, Eldar, an 11th grade student of the BNTU Lyceum, had time to choose a faculty and confidently decided to enrol in a special-purpose programme.
- I have long ago made up my mind - I plan to enter the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics. That is why today I purposefully came to the stand of the faculty to learn as much as possible about the educational process.
Among the applicants there are also regulars of BNTU open days. For example, 11th grade student Yulia has visited Polytech for the third time.
- The first time I visited this event, I was impressed by the presentation of faculties. I was mainly interested in the Faculty of Construction. I really hope to go there. Every time I come to BNTU, I'm reconsidering all the opportunities and meeting new people.
The guys also took part in the drawing prepared by the BNTU Media Centre. Three lucky winners received souvenirs with the university's branded merchandise.
For closer acquaintance with the faculties the organisers provided excursions for applicants. During them future students could see modern laboratories and classrooms, communicate with teachers and students.
After the activities, the participants attended a meeting of representatives of enterprises - customers of personnel, students of specialised classes, entrants with the management of Polytechnic.
Andrey Safonov, Deputy Chairman of the Admissions Committee, and Svetlana Gribkova, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, spoke on the topic of the Admissions Campaign 2025 and target enrolment. Representatives of the university also shared control figures of admission and told in detail about the rules of entry.
In the afternoon time for the participants of the OD there were consultations and trainings ‘How to pass CE and CT for 100 points’ in mathematics, physics, Russian, Belarusian and English languages, as well as consultations on passing entrance tests in the subjects ‘Creativity’, ‘Drawing’, ‘Composition’, ‘Painting’ and ‘ Drafting’. Among other things, the organisers provided consultations for applicants entering on the basis of targeted training, as well as for college graduates.
Therefore, the events of the BNTU Open Day became a great opportunity for applicants to decide on the choice of future speciality and profession.
