BNTU Open Day: the first important step in your career

Today, 26 April, the Belarusian National Technical University held an Open Day (OD). On the eve of the entrance exams, applicants learnt in detail about the nuances of education and the cultural life of the university, and were able to communicate with potential employers.

Sunny weather, a beautiful Polytechnic campus, a huge number of stands and interactive zones - this is what the applicants and their parents observed from the very morning of Saturday. Gradually, the university territory was filled with their curious glances and lively conversations. For the arriving guests on the territory in front of the main building of BNTU the sites of the enterprises - customers of personnel and faculties were extensively arranged.

The official programme of the event started with a solemn opening. Vice-rector for ideological and educational work of BNTU Timur Matyushinets made a welcoming speech.

- Dear guests, today we are glad to welcome all those who wish to get acquainted with our unique university complex. The territory of BNTU is of special historical and cultural value. Each building keeps the history of the formation of Belarusian science and engineering. Our university has undergone a difficult way of revival after the Great Patriotic War and became a symbol of technical progress of the Republic of Belarus. We are proud of our leading departments and research centres in construction, power engineering, architecture, metallurgy and mechanical engineering. We invite you to communicate with students and teachers at the faculty exhibitions, discuss current educational programmes and in-demand professions. Here you will be able to determine your future and make the first important step in your career.

During the ceremony soloists of the vocal and pop studio “Loving Soul” of the Department of Cultural Affairs of BNTU also performed, giving the audience plenty of positivity.

After a short break, the venue was once again enlivened with questions from applicants, who surrounded the representatives of the faculties. The organisers helped the children to get acquainted with engineering education and professions. They prepared informative booklets and posters for the applicants, told them in detail about the departments, specialities and peculiarities of admission.

Moreover, future students tested their aptitude for any professions in free career guidance tests, consulted on admission issues and participated in master classes on geodesy, ecology and industrial design. However, these were not all activities - tours of the educational buildings were also organised for the applicants.

For comfort and entertainment during the event there was a field kitchen, a photo booth and a video spinner. Everyone was happy to capture the moment of presence at the OD on bright pictures and videos, which they could take away with them.

The prepared programme provided the guests with a huge amount of positive emotions. Thus, Sofia was pleasantly impressed by the activities and shared her plans for admission.

– I am considering BNTU as my main option for admission. And today I am here to get to know the university better. I am attracted to the specialities of the Faculty of Construction because of the wide opportunities for development in the field of architecture, construction and real estate.

Alina, on the other hand, is more inclined towards management and design, so she has already had time to study the stand of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarianisation. 

- I have a positive first impression of BNTU. The atmosphere and beauty of the university are very attractive.

Therefore, the BNTU Open Day allowed the students to get acquainted with the Polytechnic and Belarusian enterprises, learn more about their future place of study and work, and get valuable advice from the university representatives.
