On March 18–19, 2026, career guidance events for graduating students, including those majoring in engineering, were held at Mozyr Secondary School No. 9 and Kalinkovichi Secondary School No. 2, with the support of the education departments of the Mozyr and Kalinkovichi District Executive Committees.
Andrei Kologrivko, Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering (FGDIE), presented targeted training opportunities and the importance of obtaining a higher education in mining engineering. Valentina Kuzmich, Deputy Secretary of the Admissions Committee for the Faculty, and Anna Lukyanova, Lecturer in the Mining Department, briefed 150 students on the rules and requirements for admission to the Belarusian National Technical University in 2026 and gave a lecture to the engineering class on the development of geological exploration in the Pripyat Trough and the prospects for mining deposits in the Gomel Region.


In addition, students and faculty representatives were given a hands-on experience with the work of the Mozyr Deep Drilling Expedition, a branch of the Scientific and Production Center for Geology, and the geological exploration work carried out at the No. 1 exploration well in the Sharinskaya area, which will serve as the future placement site for graduates.
For reference: The main activity of the state enterprise "Scientific and Production Center for Geology" is to provide regional geological exploration of the subsoil and prepare for the development of new mineral deposits, as well as subsoil areas not associated with mineral extraction, both within the Republic of Belarus and abroad. The main activities of the Mozyr Deep Drilling Exploration Expedition are exploratory drilling of oil and gas wells and the development of oil reserves. Drilling of exploratory well No. 1 in the Sharinskaya area began on August 2, 2025, with a target depth of 2,750 meters.
