15 initiatives were presented at the "StroyProject-2026" competition at BNTU. What are they about and who was the winner?

На конкурсе «СтройПроект-2026» в БНТУ представили 15 инициатив. О чем они и кто стал победителем?

Today, March 27, the youth competition "StroyProekt–2026" was held at the Belarusian National Technical University. This year, it gathered a record number of participants: 15 teams — students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Power Engineering of BNTU, the Belarusian State Technological University, as well as students of the engineering class of gymnasium No. 192 in Minsk. The participants presented to the jury their innovative developments, covering areas from energy-efficient construction to digital services for real estate.

Opening the event, the initiator of the creation of the "StroyProekt" competition, co-chair of the competition organizing committee, associate professor of the department "Economics, Construction Organization and Real Estate Management" Irina Shanyukevich addressed the participants.

While working on your projects, you consolidated all your knowledge and skills, and also acquired new ones. Now we want you to demonstrate not only the potential of your idea and the obtained results, but also to be able to defend your projects. You will be evaluated by professionals in their field who are related to the construction industry, the real estate sector, and the youth community.

The competent jury consisted of:

  • Ksenia Kuznetsova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering for Ideological and Educational Work of BNTU;
  • Aleksandra Markov, Economist of the branch "Energoproekt" of OJSC "Zapadelektrosetstroy";
  • Larisa Remenchik, Representative of the organizing committee of the competition "Leaders in Construction";
  • Victoria Shirinskaya, Deputy Director of a design and construction organization;
  • Maria Gorenkova, 4th-year student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of BNTU, finalist of the competition "100 Ideas for Belarus".

The competition program traditionally included the defense of projects, as well as the "investor attack" stage, where competing teams acted as strict but profit-interested business angels, asking opponents tricky questions about the economic feasibility of their ideas. Each of the 15 projects turned out to be unique, reflecting the main trends of modernity: environmental friendliness, digitalization, and energy efficiency.

Students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of BNTU focused on ecology, energy efficiency, and a new interpretation of urban spaces. They proposed turning waste into materials for reconstruction ("Construction Economy: from Demolition to a New Life"), creating "green roofs" with parking lots underneath ("Urban Jungle"), and installing "smart" benches with solar panels ("Power up!"). Social and technological aspects were reflected in the projects "Green Power Gym", where the energy of workouts is converted into electricity, and "Dome Houses: Relax in a Sphere!", offering unique architecture for a sanatorium-preventorium. The construction industry was addressed by the projects "Wind Protection Structures" and "Cycle of Life", which help conserve resources and even forests. The lineup of BNTU developments was completed by the project "BIM 2.0: from Model to Monitoring", forming a new technological structure in building management, and the ambitious "National Crypto Farm: Energy Balance and Digital Independence" by students of the Faculty of Power Engineering of BNTU, which proposes an economic model for using the excess capacity of power plants.

Representatives of BSTU focused on digitalization of real estate management and student infrastructure. Their projects — "RENTR", "Flatshare Connect", "Digital Student ID", and a dormitory occupancy automation service — solve specific problems: from safe rentals and finding roommates to transparent distribution of places in student campuses.

The youngest participants were also not left out, performing at a worthy level. Students of the engineering class of gymnasium No. 192 in Minsk presented the project "SmartSchool: School of a Sustainable Future", proposing to implement smart lighting, ventilation, and security systems in their school. Their participation also became an indicator of successful career guidance work to attract applicants.

The competition took place in a tense but creative atmosphere. The participants demonstrated not only the depth of elaboration of economic models, but also the ability to convincingly defend their position before "investors". Following the defense of all projects, the jury had to choose the best, evaluating relevance, novelty, social significance, and presentation quality. The following projects won in special nominations:

  • diploma for the best project presentation — the project "Construction Economy: from Demolition to a New Life" (FCE BNTU);
  • diploma for the relevance of the task being solved during the project implementation — the project "Web application for commercial real estate rental 'RENTR'" (BSTU);
  • diploma for the best environmental initiative and environmental project — the project "Urban Jungle" (FCE BNTU);
  • diploma for the novelty of ideas, approaches, technologies used — the project "Green Power Gym" (FCE BNTU);
  • diploma for the project's effectiveness and diploma for the best debut project — the project "SmartSchool: School of a Sustainable Future" (students of the engineering class of gymnasium No. 192 in Minsk);
  • diploma for the best project according to participants — the project "Cycle of Life: from a Fallen Tree to a New Life" (FCE BNTU);
  • diploma for investment attractiveness — the project "National Crypto Farm: Energy Balance and Digital Independence" (FPE BNTU);
  • diploma for the best use of digital technologies — the project "BIM 2.0: from Model to Monitoring" (FCE BNTU).

In turn, the absolute winners of the competition were determined. They were:

  • first place — the project "Cycle of Life: from a Fallen Tree to a New Life" (FCE BNTU);
  • second place — the project "National Crypto Farm: Energy Balance and Digital Independence" (FPE BNTU);
  • third place — the projects "Web application for automating student occupancy in dormitories" and "Web platform for flatsharing 'FLATSHARE CONNECT'" (BSTU).

The "StroyProekt–2026" competition once again confirmed that Belarusian youth are not only ready to solve pressing problems of the construction industry, but are also capable of proposing bold, breakthrough solutions. The range of ideas — from processing waste into building materials to creating a national crypto farm — showed the breadth of outlook and high level of preparation of the participants. Organizers and jury members noted not only the economic elaboration of many projects, but also their social significance, as well as the teams' ability to work in a professional discussion mode.

Evaluating the performances of the participants, Ksenia Kuznetsova emphasized the special value of the competition format:

A very interesting competition that gives participants the opportunity to present their ideas and hear expert opinions on their relevance and the possibility of application in real life, and sometimes to radically reconsider the direction of their ideas. Many fresh projects were presented, sometimes not devoid of dreaminess, for example, finding a sufficient number of volunteers from among students for a full-fledged construction project. I was pleased with the seriousness and responsibility with which the participants approached the preparation and presentation of their projects.

We congratulate the winners of the competition and wish them new achievements!
