Over 50 Future Engineers from Across the Country Visited the Open Day at PSF

Более 50 будущих инженеров со всей страны посетили день открытых дверей ПСФ

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, the Instrument Engineering Faculty (PSF) of BNTU hosted an open day, bringing together more than 50 prospective applicants and their parents from 27 educational institutions, including representatives of engineering classes. The geography of the guests was impressive: students came to Minsk from Svetlogorsk, Brest, Gomel, Vitebsk, Soligorsk, Kalinkovichi, Novopolotsk, Oshmyany, Bereza, Mozyr, and other localities. Among the participants were representatives of Samokhvalovichi Secondary School, Secondary School No. 8 of the city of Svetlogorsk, Minsk State Mechanical-Technological College of the city of Minsk, Brest College — Branch of the Belarusian State University of Transport, Mozyr Regional Lyceum, Kholkholitsa Secondary School, Krulevshchina Secondary School, Secondary School No. 167 of the city of Minsk, Secondary School No. 44 of the city of Minsk, Gymnasium No. 3 of the city of Vitebsk, Gymnasium No. 2 of the city of Soligorsk, Gymnasium of the city of Kalinkovichi, Gymnasium No. 2 of the city of Novopolotsk, Secondary School No. 35 of the city of Minsk, Secondary School No. 134 of the city of Minsk, Minsk State College of Digital Technologies of the city of Minsk, Minsk Pedagogical College of the city of Minsk, Minsk Radio-Technical College of BSUIR of the city of Minsk, Gymnasium No. 18 of the city of Minsk, Gymnasium No. 1 of the city of Oshmyany, Secondary School No. 3 of the city of Oshmyany, Minsk State Polytechnic College of the city of Minsk, Secondary School No. 54 of the city of Gomel, Secondary School No. 11 of the city of Soligorsk, Gymnasium No. 29 of the city of Minsk, Secondary School No. 2 of the city of Bereza.

The presentation of the specializations offered by PSF was delivered by Elena Shcherbako, Associate Professor of the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology, who also spoke about the admission rules and answered numerous questions from the schoolchildren and their parents. Afterwards, the prospective applicants and their parents visited the faculty's laboratories and personally met with future lecturers. The guests were addressed by Alexander Malyarevich, Head of the Department of Laser Engineering and Technology, who introduced the schoolchildren to modern laser systems and their applications in industry. Andrei Savchenko, Head of the Department of Instrument Design and Production, presented the fields of study related to 3D modeling, biomedicine, jewelry manufacturing, and the design of complex machinery. Dmitry Balokhonov, Associate Professor of the Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology, spoke about the world of nanostructures, microsystem engineering, and career prospects in high-tech industries. Engineers Yana Kolyadko and Natalia Petritskaya from the Department of Information and Measurement Engineering and Technologies demonstrated modern measuring systems and explained how fundamental knowledge is transformed into real-world devices. The guests showed particular interest in information about targeted admission, the faculty's cooperation with the country's leading enterprises, and employment opportunities.

The open day at the Instrument Engineering Faculty once again proved that PSF is not just about studying — it is the start of a career in high technology.
