Today, May 7, in the lead-up to Victory Day, BNTU held the "Memory of the Heart" military-patriotic song competition. Students from various faculties, as well as representatives from R. E. Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University and M. T. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, participated.
The artists' performances were judged by Natalia Penyaz, Head of BNTU's Department of Culture and Director of the "Vlyublennaya Dusha" vocal and pop studio; Mikhail Shostak, Artistic Director and Teacher of the "Kakhanachka" folk song ensemble; and Elena Klimova, Conductor of the BNTU Folk Choir.
"We are pleased that our competition is being held in a new format this year, as an interuniversity competition. This once again confirms that Victory Day is a holiday that unites us all. Fewer and fewer veterans of the Great Patriotic War remain among us, and today our mission is to preserve historical memory and pass it on to our descendants." "I thank everyone who takes the stage today, who shares their emotions and creativity with us. Thank you so much," Natalia Andreyevna remarked.
The contestants prepared routines that once again reminded the audience of the importance of passing on and honoring the memory of those who enable us to live under peaceful skies. The contestants prepared thoroughly and gave their all. The routines turned into mini-performances: dance routines and theatrical elements complemented the soloists' performances.
The jury was particularly touched by the performances of the guests from the Russian Federation—their sincerity, depth, and love for their homeland. Ilya Kuzmin and Nikolai Andreyev, students from the R.E. Alekseev Novosibirsk State Technical University, were awarded a special diploma from the jury. Mapenzi Kitalano Beni, a student from the Faculty of International Cooperation, was also recognized with a special diploma from the jury.
The competition's prize winners were as follows:
1st place diploma – Yuliana Rodimtseva (PSF), Veronika Dubovskaya (FMMP);
2nd place diploma – Anton Kramich (ATF), Lada Koneva (R. E. Alekseev NSTU);
3rd place diploma – Rustam Kasimov and Elizaveta Ponomareva (ISTU), Nikita Yanovich (VTF), Matvey Melkovich (FITR).
BNTU Rector Sergey Kharitonchik welcomed the guests and congratulated them on the upcoming Victory Day.
"I would like to thank all our guests from the Russian Federation for the friendly teams that came to us yesterday for the track and field race. I believe I can express everyone's opinion that the military-patriotic song competition was not only a success, it was simply wonderful and heartfelt." And all the students sang not only with their voices, but I would say they also sang with their hearts.
Also during the competition, Yevgeny Ivashkin, Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work at R. E. Alekseyev Novosibirsk State Technical University, was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor of BNTU" in a ceremonial setting. Yevgeny Gennadyevich received the gown from BNTU Rector Sergei Kharitonchik.
"Dear friends, thank you very much for such a high praise. It is truly significant that we are celebrating our shared victory at this moment. I solemnly pledge to do everything I can to develop cooperation between Russian and Belarusian universities, in particular between our university and the Belarusian National Technical University. Thank you all!" Yevgeny Ivashkin remarked.
The "Memory of the Heart" competition once again served as living proof that the heroism of the Soviet people knows no bounds, and that the grateful memory of it unites the younger generations of Belarus and Russia.
