Honorary titles
On December 20, 1995, in honor of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy (hereinafter - BSPA), at a meeting of the Academy Council, at the suggestion of the rector, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus M.I. Demchuk, it was decided to establish the Honorary titles of the BSPA: " Honorary Professor BSPA", "Honorary Doctor of BSPA" and "Honorary Graduate of BSPA". Regulations on Honorary Titles were approved, which should be awarded to citizens of the Republic of Belarus who do not work at the BSPA, as well as citizens of foreign countries for a great personal contribution to the development of science, education and production, constant and comprehensive ties with the BSPA. According to the provisions, honorary titles should be awarded at the end of the year by category, with the issuance of a certificate, a badge and a monetary reward in the amount of 40 basic units.
At the meeting of the BNTU Council on October 25, 2002, in connection with the renaming of the Belarusian State Technical University into the Belarusian National Technical University (hereinafter - BNTU), updated regulations on the honorary titles of the BNTU were approved.
Based on the decision of the BNTU council dated November 28, 2019 (minutes No. 9), the updated Regulations on the procedure for conferring honorary titles of the Belarusian National Technical University were approved by order of the BNTU dated November 28, 2019 No. 67-P.
In three nominations over the past 28 years, by decision of the BSPA-BNTU Council, 54 honorary titles were awarded:
Honorary Professor of BSPA-BNTU - 28 people;
Honorary Doctor of BSPA-BNTU - 12 people;
Honorary graduate of BSPA-BNTU - 14 people.
This includes: 29 representatives of Belarus, 10 representatives of the CIS, 15 representatives of foreign states.
