As part of the Young Ecologist School program, students from Secondary School No. 108 in Minsk (http://sch108.minsk.edu.by/) visited the Department of Engineering Ecology at the Faculty of Mining and Engineering Ecology. There, they not only gained an inside look at the fascinating world of science, but also became real scientists themselves during their laboratory experiments on the sanitary and hygienic analysis of wastewater and natural water.
For your information: The «Young Miner» and «Young Ecologist» schools (https://bntu.by/faculties/fgde/pages/shkola-yunyh) at the Faculty of Mining and Engineering Ecology are a series of classes that introduce students to the fields of mining, mine surveying, geology, ecology, engineering design, and geoinformation systems. In addition, you can learn about the details of admission and education at the BNTU.
Elizaveta Tishkovskaya, a lecturer at the Department of Engineering Ecology, told the young researchers about the scientific areas of the department, as well as many interesting and useful things, which made the experiments more informative and inspiring.
Undoubtedly, such events help students develop an interest in science, stimulate further learning, and help them understand how theory is implemented in practice.
