Today, on February 26, a seminar with organizations - customers of personnel "Targeted Training" was held in the assembly hall of the main building of the Belarusian National Technical University. The event considered important issues related to the admission campaign - 2026, such as problems and prospects of targeted training, the results of admission in 2025, the procedure for admission on the terms of targeted training in 2026, etc.
The rector of BNTU Sergey Kharitonchik made a welcoming speech. He also presented a report, which analyzed the problems and prospects of targeted training. The rector designated targeted training as one of the key areas of the university's work, emphasizing a serious increase in interest from enterprises.
In addition, Sergey Kharitonchik emphasized that the target set is a tool for consolidating specialists in the regions and at specific enterprises, especially among graduates of engineering classes, the network of which is actively developing throughout the country. He called on employers to be more actively involved in the process of supporting target students already during their studies in order to increase their motivation and responsibility.
The report on the results of admission on the terms of targeted training in 2025 and the main directions of work with basic organizations was presented by the first vice-rector of BNTU Andrey Safonov. He noted the impressive dynamics of target recruitment: from 27 people in 2021 to 409 enrolled in 2025, which indicates the growing interest of both industrial facilities and applicants. At the same time, the first vice-rector proposed to build further work under a simple but key trend "The applicant chooses an enterprise".
Igor Vorobey, Head of the Human Resources Department of JSC "MTW", presented the experience of long-term and systematic partnership with BNTU, which includes not only the annual admission of young specialists (more than 150 people in three years), but also the work of three branches of the departments on the basis of the enterprise. He focused on an integrated approach to training: students practice from the first year, can get a part-time job from the third, and after graduation they receive a full social package, allowances for academic success and mentor support. According to Igor Voroby, this system allows you to train motivated specialists who are already familiar with production and are integrated into the team long before receiving a diploma.
The final report was made by Natalia Afanasyeva, Director of the Institute of Integrated Forms of Education and Monitoring of Education of BNTU, Executive Secretary of the BNTU Admissions Committee, who reminded the participants about the key dates and rules of the admission campaign. She focused on the fact that applications from enterprises must be submitted before March 20, and the very acceptance of documents for targeted training will take place from June 8 to July 2.
After the speeches, the participants of the seminar actively participated in the discussion, asking questions on the practice of targeted training and exchanging experiences.
Summing up the seminar, Sergey Kharitonchik noted that the main value of such meetings is a live exchange of experience between enterprises, where some have already achieved success in attracting young people, while others are just looking for their own effective approaches. Targeted training today solves the most important state task of securing personnel in the regions, allowing the applicant to consciously choose a future place of work with clear working conditions and career prospects at the start of training.
- Today everyone is interested in getting the best, most qualified personnel. And we understand that these personnel should remain not only in the city of Minsk, they should work in all regions of our country. Therefore, targeted training opens the doors, and most importantly, the applicant who begins his career already at the start of training sees where he will be, what the salary and social package will be, what career growth will be, what benefits he gets from the conclusion of this contract. And yes, every target gets to his own enterprise. That's necessarily true. This is a very good guarantee for the enterprise itself and for us as a university: we clearly understand that a person comes who already sees his future in a particular production, - Sergey Kharitonchik summed up.
Targeted training today becomes not just a form of recruitment of applicants, but an effective mechanism for staffing the real sector of the economy. The target should be not just a student who studies under a contract, but a part of a future enterprise interested in its development. So, there is a joint work ahead to improve approaches, expand practices and find new forms of cooperation, so that each applicant consciously chooses not only the university, but also his professional future.
