General information about Preparatory Department

According to the Code of the Republic of Belarus about Education a foreign citizen, who doesn’t have a good command of the Russian language before entering the main option, should study for one year at the Preparatory Department. During this period of time, a student is studying not only the Russian language but also other subjects according to his/her future direction of education.

The training process is organized according to the following directions (depends on future specialty):

• Engineering
• Economics
• Architecture
• Humanities
• Medicine and biology

Apply in three steps

Step 1. Submission of documents

Send to the International Cooperation Faculty (220013, Minsk, Nezavisimosty Ave 67, room 135) or by mail po-fms@bntu.by or present by yourself the following documents:

• Copy of educational documents with list of the studied subjects and the marks given
• Passport copy

Step 2. Invitation

Receive from the International Cooperation Faculty the Invitation letter for obtaining a study visa in the consular office of the Republic of Belarus (for countries where a visa is necessary).

Foreign citizens from the countries where there are no consular institutions of the Republic of Belarus can get a visa after arriving to the National Airport Minsk. In this case you will be met at the airport by the university representative.

At passport control, you may be asked to verify possession of $ 4000 (rules for foreign citizens).

You should inform the BNTU International Cooperation Faculty about the date of arrival in order to reserve a place at dormitory.

Step 3 After arriving in Belarus 

Within 3 working days you should come to the International Cooperation Faculty (220013,Minsk, Nezavisimosty Ave 67,room 135) for arranging a full cycle procedure of legal staying in the Republic of Belarus.

• Apply for studies and submit original documents ;
• Sign a contract and pay for studies at the BNTU;
• Have a medical check in the Student Health Center;
• Pay for living in the dormitory;
• Get an obligatory medical insurance;
• Get a registration in citizenship and migration authorities.

NESSESARY DOCUMENTS FOR APPLYING TO THE PREPARATORY AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES

• Filled-in application form.
• Passport (with visa) and copy of its translation into the Russian language (made only in Belarus).
• Birth certificate and copy of its translation into the Russian language.
• Certificate of General Secondary Education (original) legalized educational documents originals with list of the studied subjects and the marks given and its notary verified translation copies.
• Higher education diploma and its supplement with transcripts (original) and its notary verified translation copies (required for those applying for a Masters or Ph.D. degree program)
• Health State certificate (original) +its translation into the Russian Language.
• AIDS test certificate issued by a national health care establishment of his/her native country.
• 10 photos 3х4 cm.
